How is Monico Vantage™ different from cloud IoT platforms like AWS IoT or Azure IoT?
Monico Vantage is an industrial gateway lifecycle management platform designed specifically to manage, configure, and monitor Monico industrial gateways, currently the mCoreSDR®, inside customer-controlled networks.
General-purpose cloud IoT platforms such as AWS IoT and Azure IoT are primarily designed for cloud-based data ingestion and application development, and often require significant customization to support industrial gateway operations.
Vantage focuses on the operational lifecycle of Monico gateways — including provisioning, configuration management, firmware updates, health monitoring, and secure remote management — rather than acting as a general-purpose cloud data platform.
Do my gateways need constant internet?
No. Neither the devices nor the Vantage server need to connect to the internet. The devices must be able to establish a connection to the server, but no downward connections are required.
How secure is it?
Encrypted MQTT/TLS 1.3, role-based access, no open ports, full session logging, AD/LDAP, and MFA.
Where does Vantage™ actually run?
On-prem server, private VPC, or dedicated cloud tenant. No data ever touches Monico’s cloud.
Is it included with mCore® purchases?
Yes. Vantage is included in the Monico Enterprise Support Package. There are no additional per-device licensing fees.
How many devices can one instance handle?
