Every Cummins monitoring system from Monico is delivered pre-configured for your specific equipment, minimizing setup time and eliminating field programming. Our exclusive MonicoView II software, included with every Gateway, provides a simple interface for customization, diagnostics, and port configuration.

Monitoring Older Cummins Equipment (Modlon Gateway Integration)

For older Cummins® engines and generator sets that use the Modlon Gateway, Monico’s CPC Gateway attaches directly via Modbus or native connections. Our pre-programmed templates extract critical operational and maintenance data, which can then be output in one or more protocols, including:

• Bacnet (for building management systems)
• Modbus RTU/TCP
• Allen-Bradley Ethernet/IP
• And many others

Each Modlon Gateway can support up to five engines, and the CPC Gateway can poll all of them simultaneously, depositing the resulting data into a centralized database for remote monitoring or control logic.

Monitoring Newer Cummins Units (Direct PCC Communication)

For modern Cummins® units using PCC 1x, 2x, or 3x controllers, Monico’s Gateway connects directly via RS-485 to the controller and reads Modbus RTU over the 232 port. From there, the Gateway can output data in any supported protocol, allowing easy integration into a broader monitoring or automation ecosystem.

This direct-read approach enables fast access to:

• Status and alarms
• Maintenance schedules
• Custom ancillary device data (e.g., switchgear, load banks)
