EMCP 3 Gateway
The EMCP 3 series of diesel generators from Caterpillar®, are a departure from their normal communications protocols. The primary link between the GSC (Generator Set Controller) and the engine ECM (Engine Control Module) is an S.A.E. J1939 link instead of the Cat Data Link. Therefore, Monico has developed the EMCP 3 Gateway™ which gathers data from the Genset and places the values in contiguous registers.
From this location, Monico can provide not only operational data such as engine parameters and electrical data, but also provides DM1 Active Diagnostic Codes and DM2 Inactive Diagnostic Codes. These codes are add tremendous value when used to provide repair technicians advance notification of active diagnostic codes so they are more likely to have the parts required, so they can complete repairs in one visit which will result in substantial cost savings.
There are many protocols available for output to your device. As with the CDL Gateway™ we can act as a Modbus RTU or TCP Slave, BACnet slave, or act as a master to push data to Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, and Siemens PLC's.
Like all the other Gateway products, you can upgrade to the EMCP 3 Gateway PLUS™ to take advantage of Remote Monitoring via the Virtual HMI Web Server, SMTP and SMS mail servers, real-time data logging, ftp server to retrieve data log files, and a sync server to automatically sync log files with an IP connected computer.
* All FLEX models are now C-UL approved for Class I Div II Groups A-D hazardous locations and UL-508 Listed for Industrial Control Panels. Beginning 3/31/10, all standard Gateways are FLEX models, so I/O modules can be added at anytime.
