The Monico CCM Translator was discontinued for all new applications in 2008.
Caterpillar® discontinued the CCM Module on its engines and generators in 2007, so Monico developed the CDL Gateway to replace both the CAT CCM Module and the Monico CCM Translator. In addition, the software and hardware for the CCM Translator are rapidly approaching end of life. The Monico CDL Gateway™ is a far superior product in both ease of use and productivity while maintaining our "pre-configured solution" philosophy. Monico CCM Translator
The Monico CCM Translator is the only product of it's kind specifically designed to provide Caterpillar® (Cat®) engine data in Modbus Protocol. All of our competitors are universal protocol converters that require a great deal of programming and setup to function. The product has enjoyed extraordinary success which has earned Monico a worldwide reputation. With well over 1000 installed units worldwide, we enjoy a large percentage of the market for CCM protocol converters. The ADEM II version of the CCM Translator was developed due to requests from dealers and integrators. Previously, they had contracted with a company to provide a Modbus converter for their engines. Unfortunately, it was not easy to use and, therefore, consumed a great deal of time to support from the dealers.
When the Monico ADEM II version hit the market in 1999, it took over slowly until they finally removed the other product from their offering and recommended the Monico device to their distributors. The Monico CCM Translator was the first and only pre-configured solution to convert the M50 Protocol to Modbus RTU. When they progressed to the ADEM III ECM and changed the language to M5X, we retooled our product in 2003 to meet this new challenge. Over the last few years, the Monico CCM Translator has enjoyed unparalleled success because of it's flexibility, it's simplicity, and the fact that Monico always supports every customer who calls for help no matter who they purchased from.
Today, the Monico CCM Translator is available in two versions. The Serial Version offers Modbus RTU over Serial RS-232 or RS-485 using 2-wire or 4-wire networks. It will support up to two CCM modules per translator and one engine per CCM module. It also will provide cylinder temperatures from the Pyrometer via Modbus. The Ethernet Version
provides Modbus TCP/IP over Ethernet for use in more modern industrial networks.
